Sounds of Autumn
Autumn is upon us, and we definitely feel it in the air. It’s a favourite time of year for many and we can certainly see why. Autumn is a symphony for the senses with beautiful warm colours, mouthwatering flavours and cosy soft fabrics to wrap up in. This season also brings wonderful sounds we love to hear so what better time to celebrate our favourites!
Leaves crunching underfoot
The trees take centre stage during autumn as their leaves fill the landscape with a pallet of rich, warm colour before taking a bow falling gracefully through the air. Once resting on the ground they turn dry and crisp to make a satisfying crunch underfoot.
Rainfall
Although a British staple throughout the whole year, during autumn when we are warm indoors it is so relaxing to hear rain gently patter against the window.
Crackling fire
As autumn progresses, the chill in the air coupled with shorter daylight hours draws everybody indoors to keep warm in front of the fire. On a cold autumn day there is nothing more soothing than sitting in front of an open fire in a cosy living room or country pub listening to the crackle and pop of the wood burning away.
Laughter
Autumn brings a lot of excitement for children from Halloween fun to spectacular firework displays. There is a lot of laughter in the air and we think everyone would agree that laughter is one of the best sounds in the world.
